Silvia Moorland Hike

Enjoy the landscapes of the Colombian department of Cauca on this hiking route through the Silvia moorland. We'll see high mountains and participate in an ancestral rite.

Silvia Moorland Hike

At 7 am, we'll meet at Parque Principal, the main park of Silvia, to start a hike exploring the landscapes surrounding this town.

When booking, you can choose between a 4 or 9-hour hiking tour. Both options allow ample time to learn about the local flora and fauna and take photographs of the Silvia moorland.

During the hike, we'll walk along an ancestral trail that connected the departments of Cauca and Huila. We will see small springs, high mountains, and various specimens of frailejones, a typical shrub of the area. Notably, this plant can take up to 100 years to grow 2 meters tall.

If you choose the 9-hour route, we will participate in a ritual of the Misak tribe, where we'll make an offering to Mother Earth.

We'll complete our hiking route through the Silvia moorlands at 11 am or 4 pm, depending on the selected duration.
