Exploration of Local Markets + Visit to an Indigenous Community

The adventure begins at 8 am in the main park of Silvia, where we will set out to explore this picturesque Colombian town and its captivating surroundings.

Our first destination is a local farmer's market, situated in the heart of the city, where we will wander among vibrant stalls for an hour. Here, the lively atmosphere will surround us as we explore and sample delightful local snacks such as fresh fruits and baked goods. Next, we’ll proceed to a craft market, ideal for finding unique items like jewelry, embroidery, and hats—perfect for souvenirs to take home!

Once we've completed our shopping, we'll hop on a minibus to visit a Misak community orchard. If you’re unfamiliar with this pre-Hispanic indigenous group, this is a great opportunity to learn about their rich traditions while local villagers share insights into their agricultural practices. We’ll also have the chance to visit a traditional home to gain further understanding of the Misak way of life.

Our journey continues at the Casa Payán Cultural Center, where we will discuss the significance of various plants in Misak culture and discover how they formulate medicinal treatments. As a highlight, you will have the opportunity to taste a locally crafted traditional beverage.

Afterward, we will regroup and travel to Belen hill, a scenic viewpoint that promises breathtaking panoramic vistas of Silvia. Make sure to have your cameras ready to capture this moment!

We will conclude our tour between 2 and 3 pm, returning to our original meeting point.
