Exploration of Local Markets + Visit to an Indigenous Community
Our journey begins at 8 am in the main park of Silvia, where we will set off to explore this picturesque Colombian city and its stunning landscape.
The first stop is a local farmer's market, buzzing with activity and offering an array of regional products. We will spend an hour meandering through the stalls, soaking in the lively atmosphere of Silvia. Be prepared to taste some delightful snacks, including fresh fruit and homemade bread, before making our way to a craft market featuring an array of jewelry, embroidery, hats, and various other items—ideal souvenirs from your visit!
Once we’ve completed our shopping, we’ll board a minibus to visit an orchard tended by the Misak community. If you're unfamiliar with this pre-Hispanic indigenous group, you'll have the chance to learn about their remarkable customs and traditions as village members demonstrate their agricultural practices. A visit to one of their homes will provide further insight into the lifestyle of the Misak.
Our next destination will be the Casa Payán Cultural Center, where we will discuss the significance of various plants within Misak culture and explore their medicinal uses. Enjoy a taste of a traditional beverage made right in the locality.
After this, we’ll return to our transport and proceed to Belen hill, a scenic lookout offering breathtaking views of Silvia. Be sure to have your cameras at the ready!
Our tour will conclude between 2 and 3 pm, returning to our original meeting point.
