Learn about the customs and lifestyle of the Misak people, a pre-Hispanic population in the south of Colombia, on this tour from Silvia.

Tour of Misak Culture

At 8 am, we'll meet at the main park of Silvia. We'll board a minibus and head to the outskirts of the town for a cultural tour of the indigenous people of the Colombian department of Cauca.

After a 45-minute drive, we'll arrive at a Misak orchard or yatul. Misak women will explain the organization of crops and planting processes, and participants can help with the harvest if they wish.

Next, we'll visit the Misak house, where we will learn about the living conditions of these pre-Hispanic people. We will explore the kitchens, understand the traditions, and learn about their embroidery techniques.

Following the Misak house tour, we'll have a lunch offering either a fish or vegetarian dish, accompanied by a drink and local fruit.

After lunch, we'll return to the minibus to visit the Casa Payán Interpretation Center. During this visit, we'll discover various facts about medicinal plants integral to Miskitu and Colombian culture.

Finally, the tour will conclude at 2:30 pm back at the starting point.
