Huariaca & Conoc Excursion + Casa de la Moneda
We'll pick you up at 9 am at your accommodation and set off to the town of Huariaca, about an hour and a half drive from Cerro de Pasco.
The origins of Huariaca date back thousands of years when cavemen inhabited these lands, leaving traces of their presence through cave paintings. There are 50 caves in Huariaca alone. On our tour, we'll check out Plaza de Armas and its main streets while we review the history of this city, inhabited by different pre-Inca civilizations until the arrival of the settlers.
The next stop will be in the town of Conoc, where we'll visit its thermal baths. Its therapeutic waters provide health benefits, and its location on the banks of the Tingo River makes this natural spa a relaxing environment.
We'll also visit the ruins of the Conoc mining complex. These silver deposits were discovered during colonial times in the hills of Yauricocha and Colquijirca, where Cerro de Pasco now stands.
Then, we'll return to Huariaca to visit a trout farm and the thermal baths of Catalina Huanca, followed by a visit to Casa de la Moneda, a mint located in the town of Quinua. Some of the first coins of the Republic of Peru were minted here.
Finally, we'll return to Cerro de Pasco and drop you off at your accommodation at 3 pm.
