Excursion to Huariaca & Conoc + Casa de la Moneda

Our adventure begins at 9 am as we collect you from your hotel and embark on a scenic drive towards the town of Huariaca, approximately 90 minutes away from Cerro de Pasco.

Huariaca has roots that extend back millennia into the past when early humans roamed these lands, leaving behind cave paintings as a testament to their existence. Remarkably, there are 50 caves scattered across the region of Huariaca. During our visit, we'll stroll through the Plaza de Armas and navigate its primary streets while uncovering the rich history of this area, which was once populated by various pre-Inca cultures until settlers arrived.

Our next destination will be the town of Conoc, where the focus shifts to its soothing thermal baths. The mineral-rich waters here are renowned for their therapeutic benefits, all set against the tranquil backdrop of the Tingo River, creating a perfect environment for relaxation.

Additionally, we will explore the remains of the Conoc mining complex, which holds historical significance due to the discovery of silver veins in the hills of Yauricocha and Colquijirca, the site where Cerro de Pasco currently lies.

Afterward, we will return to Huariaca to visit a trout farm and the famous thermal baths of Catalina Huanca, followed by our stop at the Casa de la Moneda in the town of Quinua. This mint played a pivotal role in the history of Peru, as it was here that some of the earliest coins of the Republic were produced!

We will conclude our excursion by returning to Cerro de Pasco, with an expected arrival at your accommodation by 3 pm.
