Spend a day visiting the stone forest of the Huayllay National Sanctuary & soaking in the medicinal waters of a thermal spa with this excursion to Huallay and La Calera.

Huayllay & La Calera Excursion

At 9 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Cerro de Pasco and drive for one hour to Huayllay, passing through towns such as Colquijirca and Cochamarca before arriving at the Huayllay National Sanctuary, known for its stone forest.

The park features about 4,000 rock formations shaped by water and wind erosion. While walking through the park, we will see formations resembling animals, including the Walker, Elephant, Alpaca, and Turtle. This area also hosts several endemic species such as deer, vicuñas, wild cats and sparrow hawks.

After exploring the stone forest, we will visit the Plaza de Armas and colonial church in the town of Huayllay. Next, we will proceed to the hot springs of La Calera, located about 15 minutes away.

La Calera is recognized for its mineral-rich waters, reaching temperatures of up to 60º Celsius, attracting visitors for their therapeutic benefits. You will have free time to enjoy the hot springs and have lunch. We will then return to Cerro de Pasco, arriving around 3 pm.
