Yanahuanca, Huarautambo, Astobamba & Villo Excursion
We'll pick you up at 9 am at your hotel in Cerro de Pasco to begin a full-day excursion to the most representative attractions of the central plateau of Peru.
We'll start by heading to the town of Yanahuanca, a two-hour drive through the Chaupihuaranga Valley. Once we arrive in this city, we'll visit the main square, home to the colonial-style Church of San Pedro, and walk through its main avenues.
From here we move to the neighboring Inca archaeological complex of Huarautambo, where we'll visit ancient buildings such as the Inca Wasi, or Palace of the Inca, and the Phaqcha, the ceremonial altar.
We'll cross its stone portico, which belongs to the Inca Trail, to visit the crystalline waterfalls of the archaeological site. Then we'll continue walking until we reach another site, Astobamba, separated from Huarautambo by an old Inca bridge. Astobamba featured fountains, aqueducts and bridges from the pre-Inca era.
After the visit to Astobamba, we'll leave you some free time for lunch and then continue with a visit to the thermal baths of Villo, from the pre-Inca era. We'll learn about the thalassotherapeutic properties of its volcanic medicinal waters rich in minerals, and enjoy them for yourself.
Finally, we'll return to Cerro de Pasco and drop you off at your hotel, arriving at 6 pm.
