Description

Located in the Sintra mountains, the Biester Palace is a 19th-century mansion recently opened for public visits. It holds significant historical and artistic value, having been designed by renowned architects like José Luiz Monteiro and Luigi Manini, who also created the Quinta da Regaleira palace.

Entry grants access to both the residence and gardens, designed in a Romantic style. Upon entering through the Entrance Gallery, visitors can observe wooden coffered ceilings and naturalistic paintings adorning the interior.

The tour includes the Drawing Room, Banquet Hall with its Neo-Gothic portico, the atrium, and a chapel featuring Templar symbols. The basement holds an Initiatory Chamber connected to the garden via a tunnel.

The park surrounding the palace features exotic plants, ponds, and green areas, ideal for leisurely strolls and climbing to viewpoints offering views of the Castelo dos Mouros.

Opening hours

The Biester Palace operates daily with the following hours:

April - September: 10 am to 8 pm, last admission at 7 pm.October - March: 10 am to 6:30 pm, last admission at 5:30 pm.
