National Palace of Queluz + Gardens
The National Palace of Queluz stands as one of Portugal's most stunning architectural gems. Situated in Sintra, this grand palace was constructed in the Baroque style under the commission of Peter III during his infancy. Following his union with Princess Mary, the building was designated as a royal residence.
Peter III engaged the French architect Jean-Baptiste Robillion to redesign the palace, inspired by the legendary Palace of Versailles. For centuries, Queluz served as the heart of the Portuguese court, hosting extravagant gatherings and festivities within its magnificent halls and gardens. Today, it functions as an official residence for visiting foreign dignitaries in Portugal.
The gardens of the palace abound with fountains and mythological figures, showcasing a remarkable balance in landscape design. They currently serve as the home to the School of Equestrian Art, a project that was awarded the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage and the Europa Nostra Award in 2018.
By using this ticket, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich history that the National Palace of Queluz has witnessed, exploring key areas such as the Throne Room, the Music Room, and the Ambassadors Room, along with the royal living quarters.
