Palace of Monserrate Ticket

This ticket grants access to the Palace of Monserrate and its renowned English landscape-style garden, known for its beauty. Constructed in the 19th century over the hermitage of Nossa Senhora de Monserrate, it was commissioned by English nobleman Francis Cook, who admired the Sintra landscape. The palace combines Gothic, Oriental, and Mozarabic elements and became a social hub for 19th-century Portuguese and English aristocracy. Notable visitors included British writers and poets, such as Lord Byron, who referenced Monserrate in his poem Childe Harold's Pilgrimage.

The Park and Palace attract visitors to explore its winding paths, lakes, and waterfalls, featuring over 3,000 species of exotic plants like camellias, azaleas, rhododendrons, and Japanese bamboos.

Opening Times

The Park and Palace of Monserrate are open daily with the following hours:

Palace: open 9:30 am to 6 pm; last admission at 5 pm.Park: open 9 am to 7 pm; last admission at 6 pm.

On December 31, the sites close at 1 pm. Please note that schedules may change.

Children Under 6

Children under 6 years do not require a ticket but must obtain their tickets at the ticket office at the Palace of Monserrate.
