Tour of Neapolis

On this guided tour of the Neapolis Archaeological Park, we'll explore significant monuments in Sicily and the heritage of the Greeks and Romans in Syracuse.

Tour of Neapolis

We will meet at the entrance of the Neapolis Archaeological Park for a guided tour of ancient Syracuse's notable sites. This tour will focus on the ruins of the most important Greek colony in the West, including the birthplace of Archimedes and passages of Plato and Cicero.

We'll visit the Latomia of Paradise, a significant stone quarry and the site of the Ear of Dionysus, which served as a prison. Participants can enjoy stunning views and test the excellent acoustics.

The tour will also include the renowned Greek Theater, noted as one of the largest theaters in the world, with a nymphaeum fountain offering scenic views of Syracuse's port.

Lastly, we'll observe the Roman Amphitheater, used for gladiator contests after the conquest of Syracuse.

The tour will conclude after an hour and a half, returning to the starting point.
