Tour of Neapolis
At the designated time, we will meet at the entrance of the Neapolis Archaeological Park to begin the guided tour. We will enter the archaeological site and walk through the ruins of the most important Greek colony in the West, uncovering the history where Archimedes was born and Plato and Cicero visited.
During the tour, we will explore the Latomia of Paradise, a stone quarry featuring the Ear of Dionysus, known for its use as a prison for enemies. Participants can experience the excellent acoustics.
Next, we will visit the significant Greek Theater, one of the largest theaters in the world, featuring the nymphaeum fountain, which offers a view of the port of Syracuse.
Finally, we will visit the Roman Amphitheater, constructed after the conquest for gladiator fights.
The tour will conclude back at the starting point after a duration of one and a half hours.
