Mývatn Thermal Baths
Located less than an hour's drive from Akureyri, Lake Mývatn is a notable example of Iceland's geothermal landscapes. To utilize its warm waters, reservoirs were created for use by tourists and locals for relaxing thermal baths.
The water in the spa's swimming pools is around 36-40 degrees, offering a pleasant contrast to the cold climate. The water is 100% natural due to volcanic minerals, eliminating the need for chlorine or other chemicals. It is even believed to have therapeutic properties.
Additionally, saunas are available for enhanced relaxation. Your ticket grants you access to the spa's facilities for three hours, allowing you to experience the area's volcanic magic at your leisure.
