Ribeira Sacra Tourist Train Ride

Travel through the Ribeira Sacra on a tourist train and discover its historical and cultural heritage.

Description

We'll meet in the centre of Doade at the selected time and board a tourist train to explore the landscapes of the Ribeira Sacra, a region of Galicia.

During the train journey, we'll travel along the steep slopes of the Sil Canyon, shaped by the river. Along the way, we'll enter the Amandi area, known for its terraced vineyards dating back to Roman times. These vineyards, called ‘heroic’ due to their steep slopes, offer views of the riverbank and its stepped terraces.

Continuing our tour, we'll pass through ancient vineyards, while learning about the history and culture of the Ribeira Sacra, known for its monasteries and wine tradition. This hidden treasure has retained its charm over centuries.

After an hour of the train ride, we'll return to the starting point and finish the tour.

This activity includes a Spanish-speaking guide on the tourist train. If there is no guide, an audio guide in Spanish will be provided.
