Excursion to Plovdiv, Starosel and Staro Zhelezare

During this trip to Plovdiv and Starosel of Sofia, you will discover two fascinating places in Bulgaria. The meeting of culture, architecture and tradition takes place in every corner of these two cities. You will also have the opportunity to admire the urban frescos of Staro Zhelezare.

Route

At the agreed time, go to the Embassy of Slovakia. From this place, you will go southeast Bulgaria to get to Plovdiv after about two hours drive. The mixture of Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and Bulgarian cultures is reflected in each of its monuments.

You will walk through the old town, walking through the paved streets and admiring their colorful houses. You will also visit the ancient Roman theatre, an architectural jewel and the ethnographic museum.

After this visit, you will have a free time for lunch in Plovdiv, known as the city on the seven hills. After lunch, you will take a journey of about an hour to the shrine of Starosel, which dates from the 5th century BC. When you arrive, you will discover the monumental room called "Tholos", iconic symbol of the culture of war of the ancient Tracies.

From Starosel, a short journey will take you to the village of Staro Zhelezare, where you can admire its fresh urban arts, dealing with local and global themes. This is the perfect place for a souvenir photo!

This 10-hour tour will conclude with your return to the meeting point in Sofia.
