Tour Details
We'll meet at the indicated time at Vasil Levski Square and set off to Rila National Park. We'll arrive at Panichishte and take a chairlift to the starting point of our hiking route in 25 minutes. Time to visit the Seven Rila Lakes!
At more than 6,500 feet (1,981 metres) above sea level, we'll take a 5-hour hike to the Seven Lakes, the main attraction of this park. Our guide will provide information about this environment during our intermediate hiking route. Note that the hike may be reduced to 4 hours.
After visiting the Seven Rila Lakes, we'll head to the medieval Rila Monastery, one of the country's architectural treasures. You'll learn about its history and fascinating facts.
The monastery is emblematic of Bulgaria's cultural identity during the Ottoman occupation. You can explore the surroundings and discover places such as the tomb of Boris III, the last Bulgarian king.
At the end of the visit, we'll return to Sofia, dropping you off at Vasil Levski Square.
