Join us on a trip to the Seven Rila Lakes and the Monastery to explore scenic landscapes in Bulgaria and a significant medieval monument.
Tour Details
We'll meet at the specified time at Vasil Levski Square and depart for Rila National Park. Our first stop will be the resort town of Panichishte, where we'll take a cable car to the mountain top. We will then hike for 5 hours to visit the Seven Rila Lakes, guided through this stunning environment.
After visiting the Seven Rila Lakes, we will continue to the medieval Rila Monastery, one of Bulgaria's architectural treasures. Here, we will explore its 65-foot (19 meters) high walls and learn about its historical significance, especially as a hub of Bulgarian cultural identity during the Ottoman rule. You will also have the opportunity to see the tomb of Boris III, the last Bulgarian king.
At the end of our visit, we will return to Sofia and drop you off at Vasil Levski Square.
