Join us on a trip to the Seven Rila Lakes and the Monastery to experience beautiful landscapes in Bulgaria and an important medieval monument.

Tour Details

We'll meet at the indicated time at Vasil Levski Square and depart to Rila National Park. After reaching the resort town of Panichishte, we will take a chairlift for 25 minutes to the start of our hiking route. The hike to the Seven Rila Lakes, located at over 6,500 feet (1,981 metres), will take approximately 5 hours, although it can be reduced to 4 hours. Our guide will provide insights about the natural wonders along the intermediate trail.

Following our visit to the Seven Rila Lakes, we will proceed to the medieval Rila Monastery, an architectural treasure of Bulgaria. The monastery features walls towering 65 feet (19 metres) and is a significant landmark, having served as a bastion of Bulgarian cultural identity during the Ottoman occupation. During your visit, you can explore significant sites such as the tomb of Boris III, the last Bulgarian king.

At the conclusion of the visit, we will return to Sofia and drop you off at Vasil Levski Square.
