Join us on a trip to the Seven Rila Lakes and the Monastery to experience some of the natural beauty and significant historical sites in Bulgaria.

Tour Details

We'll meet at the indicated time at Vasil Levski Square and depart for Rila National Park. Our first stop is the resort town of Panichishte, where we will take a cable car to the mountain's peak. Prepare to visit the Seven Rila Lakes!

At over 6,500 feet (1,981 metres) above sea level, we will enjoy a 5-hour hike to the Seven Lakes, the highlight of the park. A guide will provide insights about the environment and lead us to the impressive lakes along the route.

After visiting the lakes, we will proceed to the medieval Rila Monastery, an architectural gem in Bulgaria. You will learn about its rich history while exploring the impressive 65-foot (19 metres) high walls.

The monastery served as a bastion of Bulgarian cultural identity during the Ottoman occupation. Visitors can explore the area and see notable sites such as the tomb of Boris III, the last Bulgarian king.

After our visit, we will return to Sofia and drop you off at Vasil Levski Square.
