Seven Rila Lakes & Rila Monastery
We will meet at Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Square and depart for Rila National Park. We will arrive at the resort town of Panichishte, where we will take a cable car to the mountain's top to visit the Seven Rila Lakes.
At more than 6,500 feet (1,981 metres) above sea level, we will embark on a 5-hour hike to the lakes, guided by a professional who will explain the natural wonders along the route.
After visiting the Seven Rila Lakes, we will proceed to the Rila Monastery, significant for its historical value. You will learn about its history and importance as a cultural identity bastion during the Ottoman occupation. You can explore the surroundings, including the tomb of Boris III, the last Bulgarian king.
At the end of the visit, we will return to Sofia and drop you off at Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Square.
