Boat Trip on the Barsnesfjorden & Årøy River
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Bryggjegota pier and set off on our boat trip to explore the Barsnesfjorden fjord and the Årøy River in Norway. The scenic environment of one of the most famous fishing spots in the country awaits us.
As we depart from Sogndal, we'll pass under the Loftesnes Bridge and reach the 5-kilometer-long (3-mile) Barsnesfjorden. The emerald green hills surrounding the fjord reflect in the clear waters.
While cruising, we'll pass by the village of Barsnes, known for its traditional wooden houses. As we approach the Årøy River, we'll note that this area has been famous for sport fishing since the 19th century.
The fast-flowing river is home to some of the largest salmon, with a record weight of 34 kilos (75 pounds) caught in these waters. After an hour of exploring, we'll head back to Bryggjegota pier, concluding our adventure.
