Embark on an unforgettable day trip to the stunning beaches of Holbox Island, a serene paradise located on the northern coast of the Yucatán, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rich avian diversity.
Day Trip Overview
Your journey begins with a pickup from your hotel in the Riviera Maya, followed by a trip to Chiquilá port. Here, you will board a small boat that will take you across the waters to Holbox Island, nestled along the northern coastline of the Yucatán.
Your first destination will be a picturesque beach situated on the western side of Holbox, where you can unwind and bask in the Caribbean sun for 45 minutes of leisure.
Continuing our adventure, we will visit Isla Pasión, a pristine area with untouched beaches that serve as a refuge for numerous bird species. You will have time to wander, explore the natural beauty, and relax at a viewpoint that provides spectacular vistas of the island.
Next, we will set our course for Punta Mosquito, another breathtaking beach only reachable by boat. If you are visiting between March and October, keep your eyes open for the vibrant pink flamingos that frequent this area, as it provides an essential breeding and resting ground during their migratory journey to South America.
Afterwards, depending on availability, we will take a break for lunch at a nearby beachfront restaurant or enjoy a meal on board the vessel. Regardless of the setting, a delicious traditional dish of the region awaits you. Following lunch, you will have between 1.5 and 2 hours to bask on the beach or explore the village of Holbox, conveniently located just a short stroll away.
As your magical day, immersed in the natural beauty and calm of Holbox Island, comes to an end, we will return to the pier before heading back to Chiquilá port. The full experience lasts approximately 12 to 13 hours, after which you will be dropped off at your hotel.
Itinerary Adjustments
Please be aware that the sequence of the stops outlined may be subject to change. In instances where the tour occurs on days other than Monday or Thursday, and contingent upon weather conditions, a visit to Punta Mosquito may not be feasible. In such cases, our alternative stops will include either Isla Pájaros or the Yalahau cenote.
Observations on Flamingos
Although great numbers of pink flamingos are typically spotted in this region between March and October, please remember these birds are wild and their appearances cannot be guaranteed.
