Tulum and Rio Secreto Day Trip

Discover the Caribbean landscapes of Tulum, an ancient Mayan walled city, on this excursion to the magnificent grottoes of the Rio Secreto.

Day Trip Details

Pickup from your hotel in Riviera Maya is at 7 am. We will visit the spectacular Mayan archaeological site of Tulum, situated on a clifftop overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

At “The Castle,” the largest structure in Tulum, we will learn about the advanced Mayan knowledge of architecture and astronomy. The Tulum astronomical observatory was significant for studying stars, and we will explore the main temples in the area, including the Temple of the Frescoes, which features period paintings.

Next, we will proceed to the natural grottoes of the Rio Secreto, an underground river with stalactites and stalagmites. Accompanied by an expert guide, participants will wear helmets and wetsuits to explore the hidden corners of these caves.

The tour concludes with a return to hotels in Riviera Maya at around 4 pm.
