On this hiking route around the Pantálica Nature Reserve, we will explore this world heritage site in southern Sicily.
Description
We will meet at the Pantálica Lato Sortino car park, then begin our hike within the Pantálica Nature Reserve. The reserve is located between the Calcinara and Anapo Rivers and features deep gorges and archaeological sites from the 13th century BC. It is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
During the hike, we will observe the old excavated tombs and visit the Grotta dei Pistrelli, a notable cave. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to swim in the Calcinara River.
After swimming, we will walk upstream through the water and take a break on the shore. You can enjoy a small snack that you provided.
After 4 hours of hiking, we will conclude our tour back at the starting point.
