El Djem, Douz & Kairouan Private 2 Day Trip

Trip Details

Day 1: El Djem – Matmata – Douz

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Sousse and start our 2-day trip visiting Tunisia.

Our first stop will be the El Djem amphitheatre, also known as the Tunisian Coliseum. We'll walk around its arena while learning about its history and numerous gladiatorial fights.

The tour will continue to Matmata, where we'll visit the cave-houses, an ancient Amazigh settlement carved into the rock. In Matmata, we'll have approximately one hour of free time for lunch (not included).

Afterwards, we'll head towards the Douz desert for a chance to try out a quad or camel ride (not included). We'll stay at a Douz hotel for dinner and rest until the next day.

Day 2: Douz – Chott Djerid – Oasis - Kairouan

In the morning, you'll have time for breakfast in local cafes before heading to Chott El Djerid, a large salt lake with mirages visible on the horizon.

Then, we’ll visit the Atlas mountain range and the oasis of Chebika and Tamerza. Our last stop will be the holy city of Kairouan, where we'll visit the Great Mosque and learn about its significance in Islam.

The tour will end with a return to your hotel in Sousse.
