Explore Trogir: Croatia's Little Venice
After meeting on Obala Lazareta Street in Split, we'll set off on a 45-minute scenic drive along the Dalmation Coast to Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As we approach, we'll enjoy a stunning coastal landscape. Trogir, an ancient island city, is connected to the mainland by a picturesque stone bridge.
The guided tour begins with a visit to the impressive Cathedral. We will discuss the history behind this majestic church while admiring its intricate Romanesque façade.
Next, we will travel to the main square to explore the Cipiko Palace and Town Hall. The unique architecture of the Cipiko Palace reflects Trogir's Venetian influence, showcasing a blend of Renaissance and Baroque styles.
From the main square, it's a short walk to Kamerlengo Fortress, built in the 15th century by the Venetians. Climb the stone walls to reach the viewpoint for panoramic views of Trogir.
Following the fortress visit, you will have free time to explore Trogir's cobblestoned streets. Options include visiting artisanal shops, sampling traditional Dalmatian dishes, or relaxing by the sea.
After 2 hours and 45 minutes, we will conclude our guided visit back at the meeting point in Split.
