Day Trip to Charles Town
Pick-up from your hotel begins at 10 am, after which we will depart from Kingston heading north to the island.
After an hour and a half, we will arrive at Charles Town, known for being home to one of Jamaica’s largest Maroon communities. The visit includes the Maroon Museum, where you will learn about the history of this community and their fight for freedom.
The Maroons consist of descendants of people brought from Africa as slaves in the 18th century and who fought for Jamaican independence. Today, they identify as independent communities of ex-runaway slaves.
During your time in Charles Town, you will witness locals performing traditional songs and dances, providing a unique experience.
Next, we will visit Buff Bay River for a refreshing dip, followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant (lunch not included).
After lunch, we will return to Kingston, with drop-off at your hotel expected around 3 pm.
