Follow in the footsteps of the pirates on this tour of Port Royal. We'll visit the fortress and discover the history of this ancient port city.

Description

At the indicated time we'll pick you up from your hotel in Kingston to begin a tour of one of the most famous sights in the Jamaican capital.

After about 30 minutes on the minibus, we’ll reach Port Royal, originally founded by the Spanish and once the biggest city in the Caribbean, until an earthquake destroyed it in 1692. During British rule, it hosted a Royal Navy base. We'll learn its secrets.

Port Royal is known for being a stronghold for pirates. Its strategic location between maritime lines linking Spain and Panama made it attractive for looting. You’ll discover stories about notorious pirates as we stroll through the city remains.

We'll visit the fort of Port Royal, dating back to the 17th century, and its numerous cannons. We will also visit the small museum at Fort Charles to learn more about the area’s past.

For those interested in seafood, we'll take you to Gloria's restaurant for a meal (not included), where your table will be reserved.

After the four-hour tour, we'll return you to your hotel.
