Follow in the footsteps of the pirates on this tour of Port Royal. We'll visit the fortress and discover the history of this ancient port city.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Kingston to begin a tour of one of the most famous sights in the Jamaican capital.

After about 30 minutes on the minibus, we arrive at Port Royal, originally founded by the Spanish and once the biggest city in the Caribbean before being destroyed by an earthquake in 1692. Under British rule, it was a Royal Navy base, and we'll learn about its history.

Port Royal is known for being a stronghold for pirates, located strategically between maritime routes connecting Spain and Panama, making it a prime location for looting. You’ll hear stories about notorious pirates as we stroll through the remnants of the city.

We'll visit the fort of Port Royal, which dates back to the 17th century, and view its numerous cannons, as well as the small museum at Fort Charles for more insights into the area's past.

If you would like to try some seafood, we'll take you to Gloria's restaurant for a meal (not included), with a reserved table for you.

After refuelling, we'll return you to your hotel after a four-hour tour.
