Why visit the Old Jail?

The Old Jail is one of St. Augustine's key sites and is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. Admission includes performances by actors in the museum, portraying sheriffs and criminals, providing a glimpse into prisoners' conditions in the late 19th century. The site also shares stories about the bailiffs' families who lived nearby. The building's appearance, restored in 1993, reflects an elegant Renaissance style.

The Old Jail is open during these hours:

Sunday to Thursday: 9 am to 4:30 pmFridays and Saturdays: 9 am to 5:30 pm

The dramatized tours occur every 20 minutes, daily.
