On this trip from Roseau, we'll learn about the history and nature of this island country by visiting Fort Shirley and the Dominica Botanical Gardens.
Description
Located between Guadalupe and Martinique, Dominica is an island country in the Caribbean and part of the lesser Antilles. We'll begin by discovering key locations in its capital, Roseau, where we will pick you up at the cruise terminal at the scheduled time.
The first stop will be at the Dominica Botanical Garden, a natural space established during the British Empire era, showcasing numerous native tropical plant species, including the Bois Kwaib, the national flower of Dominica.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to observe various native plants, flowers, and trees, along with native birds like the Sisserou parrot, the national bird represented on the country's flag.
After the Botanical Garden, the tour proceeds to the northern coast, where we will visit Fort Shirley, an old fort established by the English during conflicts with the French in the Lesser Antilles.
Following the visit to Fort Shirley, the tour will conclude with a stop at a beautiful beach, where participants will have 45 minutes of free time for swimming and refreshments.
The tour will end back at the meeting point in Roseau, approximately 5.5 hours after the initial pickup.
