On this trip from Roseau, we'll learn about the history and nature of this island country by visiting Fort Shirley and the Dominica Botanical Gardens.

Description

Dominica is an island country in the Caribbean, located between the French islands of Guadalupe and Martinique, forming part of the lesser Antilles. We'll begin this tour in its capital, Roseau, with pickup at the cruise terminal at the scheduled time.

The first stop will be the Dominica Botanical Garden, a space established during the British Empire. Here, we will observe native tropical plant species, including the Bois Kwaib, the national flower of Dominica. Additionally, we will see native birds, including the Sisserou parrot, the national bird, which is also featured on the country's flag.

After the Botanical Garden, we'll head to the northern coast and visit Fort Shirley, an old fort built in a volcanic crater by the English during the wars against the French.

The tour will conclude at a beautiful beach in the area where you’ll have 45 minutes of free time to swim and enjoy refreshments. We will return to the meeting point in Roseau approximately 5.5 hours after the initial pickup time.
