Explore Sigtuna, Sweden's oldest town, its Viking history, church ruins, and historic Wenngarn Palace on this enriching tour from Stockholm.

Description

Discover the historical charm of Sigtuna, which features a preserved Viking-era street network adorned with 18th-century houses. The town's rich Viking and Medieval history can be explored at the Sigtuna Museum, a former center of royalty and religion in Sweden.

The guided tour includes visits to church ruins and Viking runestones, shedding light on both Viking stories and post-Viking Christian life. We will wander along the shores of Lake Mälaren, where these artifacts reveal fascinating narratives.

We will also visit the 17th-century Wenngarn Palace, once home to Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie. The tour includes insights into the palace's Baroque architecture and original 17th-century paintings, exploring the lives of Swedish nobility and farmers in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Next, we will explore Viby, a farm preserved since the 1700s, showcasing traditional Swedish life through its iconic red countryside buildings.

After 5 hours of historical exploration, the tour will conclude with a drop-off at your hotel.
