Uppsala Private Day Trip from Stockholm
We will start the day by picking you up from your hotel in central Stockholm for an exciting day trip to Uppsala. Uppsala has historical significance as it was formerly the site of royal coronations and funerals.
Our first stop is the Uppsala Cathedral, constructed in 1273 and the largest cathedral in Scandinavia. We will spend 30 minutes exploring this significant site, home to the Swedish archbishop's seat.
Next, we'll proceed to Gamla Uppsala, where we will visit the Viking-era archaeological site. Here, you will have an hour of free time to explore burial mounds and the on-site museum, gaining insight into Sweden's Viking past. You can also see Anders Celsius' grave, among other historical figures.
After the archaeological site, we will visit Uppsala Castle, a 16th-century structure, where we will learn about the Sture murders. You will have 1 hour of free time to explore the castle and have lunch at local restaurants.
Our final stop is Uppsala University, where the main building was constructed in 1887. We will have a 20-minute visit to explore the university's history dating back to 1477.
After 7 hours of exploring Sweden's rich history, we will return you to your hotel in Stockholm.
