Hólmavík Whale Watching

On our Hólmavík Whale Watching activity, you will experience a sailing adventure in North West Iceland. We will meet at your chosen time on Hafnarbraut Street at the Port of Hólmavík and board our boat to venture into the North Atlantic, searching for whales along Iceland's northwest coast.

During the trip, we will sail through the Westfjords region, where we aim to spot whales. The humpback whale is the most commonly observed species here, known for its acrobatic swimming and playful behavior. These whales can weigh up to 50 tonnes, and their songs can be heard from distances up to 100 miles (160 kilometers). We will share interesting facts about them during the trip.

Additionally, be on the lookout for other marine life such as Minke whales, dolphins, sperm whales, killer whales, and pilot whales throughout the journey.

The boat trip lasts for 2 hours, and the activity concludes upon our return to the starting point.
