La Petite France Free Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet up in front of the cathedral and set off on a free tour of one of the districts in Strasbourg. We'll begin by walking down the main street, or “Grand'Rue”.
Then, we'll cross over the historic Ill River using the Saint Martin bridge, where we'll view the waterlock and the traditional district, the oldest part of Strasbourg. We'll discuss the history of the area and the architecture of the classic half-timbered townhouses.
Our next stop will be at Benjamin Zix square, where we'll enjoy the ambiance of local cafés by the canal. Afterwards, we'll head over to Bruche quay with its romantic terraces, the highlight of the tour.
Finally, we'll continue to the Ponts Couverts, where we'll have views over the Barrage Vauban and the former city fortifications. Here, the tour will conclude after an hour and 15 minutes of sightseeing.
