La Petite France Free Tour
At the scheduled time, we will meet in front of the cathedral and commence a free tour of Strasbourg's charming district. We will begin our walk down the main street, or “Grand'Rue”.
Next, we will cross the historic Ill River via the Saint Martin bridge, offering views of the waterlock and the traditional district, the oldest part of Strasbourg. The guide will discuss the history and architecture of the classic half-timbered townhouses.
We will stop at Benjamin Zix square to enjoy the atmosphere of local cafés by the canal. Afterwards, we will visit Bruche quay with its romantic terraces, a highlight of the tour.
Finally, we will proceed to the Ponts Couverts for views over the Barrage Vauban and the former city fortifications. The tour concludes after an hour and 15 minutes of sightseeing.
