Discover one of Alsace's festive attractions with this Traditional Christmas Market Walking Tour. Enjoy the atmosphere around Strasbourg as you wander through the streets.

Tour Description

We'll meet at the indicated time at Place Gutenberg. From this central point, we'll head to Place Kléber, home to one of the most famous Christmas markets in Strasbourg.

Here we'll see the giant Christmas tree around which various stalls are distributed. As we walk among the decorated stalls and admire the lights, we'll explain the origins and traditions of the Christmas markets in the Alsace region.

Place Kléber's Christkindelsmärik is the oldest Christmas market in Europe, originating in 1570. From late November to early January, Strasbourg is regarded as the Christmas capital. During the tour, we'll discover popular products, and you'll have the opportunity to sample vin chaud (mulled wine) and kugelhopf cake.

The tour will continue with a visit to the Notre-Dame Cathedral market, showcasing sought-after Christmas toys and decorations. Most of these items reflect a fusion of French and German cultures due to the region's location.

After 2 hours, we'll conclude the tour at the cathedral market, allowing you to explore the stalls that interest you most on your own.
