Discover one of Alsace's festive attractions with this Traditional Christmas Market Walking Tour. Enjoy the atmosphere of Strasbourg as you walk through the streets.

Tour Description

We'll meet at the indicated time at Place Gutenberg. From this central point, we'll head to Place Kléber, home to one of the most famous Christmas markets in Strasbourg.

Here, we'll see the giant Christmas tree surrounded by various stalls. As we walk and admire the lights, we'll explain the origins and traditions of the Christmas markets in the Alsace region.

Place Kléber's Christkindelsmärik is the oldest Christmas market in Europe, dating back to 1570. From late November to early January, Strasbourg is considered the Christmas capital. During the tour, we'll explore popular products, including vin chaud (mulled wine) and kugelhopf cake.

The tour will continue by visiting the Notre-Dame Cathedral market, showcasing sought-after Christmas toys and decorations. As the region borders France and Germany, many products reflect a fusion of both cultures.

After 2 hours, we'll conclude the tour at the cathedral market. You can then visit the stalls of your choice on your own.
