Discover one of Alsace's impressive festive attractions with this Traditional Christmas Market Walking Tour. Enjoy the magical atmosphere around Strasbourg as you wander through the charming streets.

Tour Description

We'll meet at the indicated time at Place Gutenberg. From this central point, we'll head to Place Kléber, home to one of the most famous Christmas markets in Strasbourg.

Here we'll see the giant Christmas tree surrounded by various stalls. As we explore the beautifully decorated stalls and lights, we'll discuss the origins and traditions of the Christmas markets in the Alsace region.

Place Kléber's Christkindelsmärik is the oldest Christmas market in Europe, established in 1570. From late November to early January, Strasbourg is regarded as the Christmas capital. During the tour, we'll learn about the most popular products, and you'll have the opportunity to sample vin chaud (mulled wine) and kugelhopf cake.

The tour will continue with a visit to the Notre-Dame Cathedral market, where you'll find sought-after Christmas toys and decorations. Due to the region's location on the border between France and Germany, you'll see a fusion of both cultures in the products offered.

After 2 immersive hours, we'll conclude the tour at the cathedral market. You can then visit the stalls that interest you on your own.
