Discover one of Alsace's impressive festive attractions with this Traditional Christmas Market Walking Tour. Enjoy the magical atmosphere around Strasbourg as you wander through the charming streets.

Tour Description

We'll meet at the indicated time at Place Gutenberg. From this central point, we'll head to Place Kléber, where one of the most famous Christmas markets in Strasbourg is located.

Here we'll see the giant Christmas tree around which the different stalls are distributed. As we walk around the beautifully decorated stalls and admire the lights, we'll explain the origins and traditions of the Christmas markets in the Alsace region.

Place Kléber's Christkindelsmärik is the oldest Christmas market in Europe, dating back to 1570. From late November to early January, Strasbourg is known as the Christmas capital. During the tour, we'll find out which products are the most popular, and you can't miss sampling the vin chaud (mulled wine) and the kugelhopf cake.

The tour will continue by visiting the Notre-Dame Cathedral market, where you'll see the most sought-after Christmas toys and decorations. The region's location on the border between France and Germany results in a fusion of both cultures in many products.

After 2 immersive hours, we'll conclude the tour at the cathedral market. From that moment on, you can visit the stalls that you like the most on your own.
