Discover one of Alsace's festive attractions with the Traditional Christmas Market Walking Tour. Experience the atmosphere around Strasbourg while strolling through its streets.

Tour Description

We'll meet at the specified time at Place Gutenberg. From there, we’ll proceed to Place Kléber, home to one of the famous Christmas markets in Strasbourg.

At Place Kléber, we will see the giant Christmas tree surrounded by various stalls. While walking among the decorated stalls and illuminated displays, we will discuss the origins and traditions of the Christmas markets in the Alsace region.

Place Kléber's Christkindelsmärik is the oldest Christmas market in Europe, established in 1570. From late November to early January, Strasbourg is celebrated as the Christmas capital. The tour includes tasting the popular vin chaud (mulled wine) and kugelhopf cake.

The tour continues to the Notre-Dame Cathedral market, where you will discover sought-after Christmas toys and decorations. The products often reflect a blend of French and German cultures due to the region's location.

After 2 immersive hours, the tour will end at the cathedral market, allowing you to explore the stalls independently.
