Shakespeare's Birthplace

The William Shakespeare house serves as a sanctuary for enthusiasts of the writer. Located on Henley Street, it showcases his childhood, teenage years, and early marriage to Anne Hathaway. Visitors are welcomed by the gardens and the 16th-century house with its original wooden beams, reflective of the Elizabethan era.

During the tour, guests will explore the rooms where Shakespeare penned significant literary works and discover where he ate, slept, and played. This location has attracted many renowned writers, including Charles Dickens and John Keats.

“Famous Beyond Words” Exhibition

Since 2016, marking the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth, the house features the "Famous Beyond Words" exhibition, showcasing Shakespeare's life and major works. Visitors can view first edition copies and a collection of personal art. Additionally, a family tree timeline offers in-depth insights, including unexpected elements.
