Description

At 6:30 pm, we'll meet at Piazza Guglielmo Marconi in Stresa. From there, we'll go to the pier and start a boat ride on Lake Maggiore to enjoy one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy.

The first part of the trip will be dedicated to exploring the coast of the Borromean Islands. We'll sail by the islet of San Giovanni, admire the botanical gardens of Isola Madre from the boat, see the 17th-century palace that sits on Isola Bella, and cruise around Isola dei Pescatori ('Fisherman's Island').

As we sail along, we'll admire the elegant villas of Baveno and the gardens of Verbania. Leaving the Piedmont region behind toward Lombardy, we'll marvel at the afternoon light shining on the Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso. This 14th-century monastery stands out for its 15-meter-high bell tower.

At 7:30 pm, the boat ride will conclude at the starting point.
