Embark on a scenic journey across Lake Maggiore to explore the picturesque Isola Bella and Isola dei Pescatori aboard a tourist boat that departs from Stresa. Enjoy the flexibility of getting on and off the boat as often as you like, allowing you to discover these charming islands at your leisure.

Tourist Boat to Isola Bella & Isola dei Pescatori

If you’re eager to experience two of Lake Maggiore's most iconic islands, a boat will be waiting for you at the dock located in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi. As we set sail, we’ll leave Stresa behind and head towards Isola Superiore, commonly referred to as Isola dei Pescatori, which translates to 'Fishermen's Island.'

Upon arrival, take your time wandering through the narrow pathways of this historic fishing community until you reach the Church of San Vittore, regarded as the island's principal landmark. Along your exploration, you'll encounter numerous bars and restaurants offering a taste of the exquisite local dishes.

Once you've enjoyed Isola dei Pescatori, board the boat once more to continue to Isola Bella, celebrated as the most stunning island within the Borromean archipelago. Unlike your previous stop, this island does not have a classic village; instead, you’ll find a town that resembles a fairy tale, complete with beautiful gardens adorned with fountains and vibrant flowers.

Are you curious about the name Isola Bella? It stems from its Baroque palace, constructed under the direction of Charles III Borromeo in tribute to his wife, Isabella. You can explore the palace independently, discovering its lavish halls that captivate with extravagant decorations.

The final leg of the boat tour will take you back to Stresa; however, if you wish, the boat can return you to Isola dei Pescatori for further exploration.
