Isola Bella & Isola dei Pescatori Tourist Boat
Want to visit two of the most emblematic islands of Lake Maggiore? A tourist boat will be at the pier in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi. Setting sail, the boat will leave Stresa and head to Isola Superiore, known as Isola dei Pescatori, or 'Fishermen's Island.'
Once you arrive, you can stroll through the narrow streets of the old fishing village until you reach the Church of San Vittore, the main monument on the island. There are also bars and restaurants to sample local cuisine.
After Isola dei Pescatori, you can return to the boat and head to Isola Bella, known for its beautiful gardens full of fountains and flowers rather than a traditional village. The name Isola Bella comes from its Baroque palace built by Charles III Borromeo in honor of his wife Isabella, which you can visit to see its elegant halls.
The final stop will take you back to Stresa, with an option to return to Isola dei Pescatori afterward if you wish.
