Isola Bella & Isola dei Pescatori Tourist Boat
Want to visit two of the most emblematic islands of Lake Maggiore? A tourist boat will be waiting at the pier in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi. Setting sail, we'll leave Stresa and head to Isola Superiore or Isola dei Pescatori, meaning 'Fishermen's Island.'
Once we arrive, you can stroll through the narrow streets of the old fishing village until you reach the Church of San Vittore, the most important monument on the island. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to sample local cuisine.
After Isola dei Pescatori, return to the boat to visit Isola Bella, noted for its gardens full of fountains and flowers. The name Isola Bella derives from its Baroque palace built by Charles III Borromeo in honor of his wife Isabella. You can explore its elegant halls and admire the ornamentation.
The last stop will take you back to Stresa. The boat can also return you to Isola dei Pescatori, if desired.
