Madre Island is the largest of the Borromean Islands. To reach it, hop on the boat at Stresa's Piazza Guglielmo Marconi. This island is known for its botanical gardens, which cover 8 hectares. You can explore this English-style garden featuring camellias, magnolias, cypresses, and palm trees, along with various African plant species. During your visit, you may see peacocks, parrots, and pheasants.

Additionally, you will observe the exterior of Borromeo Palace, which dates back to the 17th century.

After exploring Madre Island, you can return to the boat and head to Bella Island, regarded by many as the most captivating of the Borromean Islands. Spend as much time as you wish discovering its beauty.

The last stop of the hop-on hop-off boat will be Stresa, after which the boat resumes its route. You can reboard to revisit Madre Island.

The hop-on hop-off boat operates from March to November, running every day from 10 am - 6 pm. Timetables may be subject to change.
