If you love flowers and gardening, you can't miss out on the Canberra Floriade Festival, one of Australia’s most famous flower shows. We'll also visit the National Arboretum and other stunning gardens!
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the meeting point for a day of floral beauty.
After about 1 hour, our first stop will be the National Arboretum, where we'll start a 1-hour guided tour of its vast forests. The Arboretum spans 250 hectares and is home to over 44,000 rare and endangered trees, serving as a center for conservation and scientific research.
Inside the Arboretum, we will explore the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection, which includes 120 exhibits, with around 75 trees on display. This collection, inaugurated on September 28th, 2008, is a collaboration with the Australian Bonsai Community.
After this exhibition, we will drive 30 minutes to the Canberra Floriade Festival for a 2.5-hour self-guided tour. The festival runs annually from mid-September to mid-October and showcases a variety of flora. Each year, around 300,000 bulbs are distributed to local residents to beautify the city during the event. You'll have time to enjoy a delicious lunch.
After approximately 2.5 hours, we'll head to Tulip Top Gardens for another 30 minutes, allowing you an hour to explore the gardens at your leisure.
After 7 hours of exploring Canberra's beautiful gardens, we will conclude the tour back at the starting point.
