For enthusiasts of horticulture and blooming landscapes, the Canberra Floriade Festival represents a must-see event among Australia's notable floral exhibitions. The experience also includes a visit to the National Arboretum and other picturesque gardens.

Our journey begins at the designated meeting point, where we'll gather to embark on a day dedicated to exploring floral splendor. Let’s commence this vibrant adventure!

Approximately one hour into our excursion, we will arrive at the National Arboretum. Here, a one-hour guided tour awaits, allowing us to traverse the extensive woodlands. This remarkable site is home to over 44,000 rare and endangered tree species across 250 hectares, serving as a center for natural beauty, conservation, research, and a favored destination for visitors.

Within the Arboretum, we'll visit the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection, a partnership between the ACT Government and the Australian Bonsai Community. Inaugurated on September 28, 2008, the collection features 120 exhibits, with around 75 meticulously displayed trees at any given time. Prepare to be captivated by its elegance!

Following this enchanting exhibit, we’ll travel approximately 30 minutes to the Canberra Floriade Festival, where you’ll enjoy a 2.5-hour self-guided exploration. This festival runs annually from mid-September to mid-October and has been celebrated since 1988. It showcases Australia’s diverse floral heritage and stands out as one of the country's top flower festivals.

Each year, around 300,000 bulbs are distributed to the local community, including schools and organizations, inviting them to plant blooms around their homes. This initiative enhances the city with a colorful array of flora throughout the festival’s duration. As you navigate the event, you’ll encounter innumerable flower varieties in a spectrum of colors, along with ample free time to savor a delightful lunch.

After 2.5 hours of immersive exploration, we will proceed to Tulip Top Gardens, located just a 30-minute drive away, where you’ll witness stunning tulips in a variety of shades. You will be granted one hour to enjoy the gardens at your own pace.

Ultimately, after a fulfilling 7 hours of marveling at Canberra's exquisite gardens, we will conclude our tour, returning you to the original meeting point.
