If you love flowers and gardening, you can't miss out on the Canberra Floriade Festival, one of Australia’s most famous flower shows. We'll also visit the National Arboretum and other stunning gardens!
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the meeting point and begin a day full of floral beauty.
After about 1 hour, our first stop will be the National Arboretum, where we'll embark on a 1-hour guided tour of the forests, featuring over 44,000 rare and endangered trees across a 250-hectare area. The Arboretum is a hub of natural beauty and conservation efforts.
Inside the Arboretum, we'll visit the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection. Inaugurated on September 28th, 2008, this collection showcases 120 exhibits with around 75 trees on display at any time.
Next, we will take a 30-minute drive to the Canberra Floriade Festival for a 2.5-hour self-guided tour. The festival occurs annually from mid-September to mid-October and has been held since 1988, featuring a variety of flora from Australia. Each year, around 300,000 bulbs are distributed for local planting.
After around 2.5 hours, we'll head to Tulip Top Gardens for another 30 minutes, where you'll have an hour to explore the gardens.
Finally, after 7 hours of exploring Canberra's gardens, we'll conclude the tour back at the starting point.
