Embark on an engaging wildlife-watching adventure from Canberra! Experience an afternoon dedicated to discovering Australia's extraordinary animals, a journey that promises to leave a lasting impression.
Description
On the designated day, our team will meet you at your hotel in Canberra at the arranged time, setting the stage for an exhilarating exploration. Are you ready to witness Australia's distinct wildlife in their natural environment? Let’s set off!
We'll kick off with a picturesque drive, lasting around 30 to 40 minutes, through the serene countryside of Canberra, en route to the Deep Space Tracking Station located in Tidbinbilla, our first stop. Upon arrival, we will uncover the intriguing history of the telescopes situated there, which were instrumental during the Apollo missions and the initial moon landing! These telescopes remain vital today, continually exploring the depths of space, and we will gain insights into their ongoing contributions to scientific discovery.
Next, our journey takes us to the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, a haven for some of Australia’s most treasured wildlife, where we will commence a guided tour. As we navigate through the reserve, the opportunity to observe kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, platypuses, vibrant parrots, and other native avian species will arise, alongside the chance to spot emus.
Our experienced guides will enrich your understanding of these creatures, enhancing the wildlife observation experience. Expect to gather fascinating tidbits about the animals and their ecosystems, as well as ongoing conservation initiatives in the region. It’s bound to be an enlightening experience!
After our amazing 4-hour excursion, we will return to our starting point in Canberra.
