Cordillera de los Frailes Hiking Tour
At 8:30 am we'll pick you up at your hotel and take you to the town of Chataquila, located 30 kilometers from the center of Sucre. Once there, we'll begin a two-hour hike through the Cordillera de los Frailes, which divides the departments of Chuquisaca and Potosí.
During the hike, we'll stop to see the cave paintings of Inka Mach'ay, created approximately 2,500 years ago, featuring human and geometric figures. Next, we'll visit the cave of Pumamachay, which has cave paintings in black.
As we progress through the mountain range, we'll take in the views of the Chataquila mountain range. A picnic lunch will be provided before heading to one of the local villages, where the bus will be waiting for us.
At the Tazón viewpoint, we will enjoy panoramic views of the Maragua Crater. Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Sucre at 2:30 pm.
