Cordillera de los Frailes Hiking Tour
At 8:30 am, pick up will be at your hotel, followed by transportation to Chataquila, located 30 kilometers from Sucre. The tour begins with a two-hour hike through the Cordillera de los Frailes, which separates Chuquisaca and Potosi.
During the hike, multiple stops will be made to view significant features, starting with the cave paintings of Inka Mach'ay, created approximately 2,500 years ago. These include both human and geometric figures, with some meanings still unidentified. The next site is the cave of Pumamachay, known for its black cave paintings.
As the hike progresses, participants will enjoy views of the Chataquila mountain range. A picnic lunch will be provided before proceeding to one of the local villages, where transport will await.
There will also be a stop at the Tazón viewpoint to take in panoramic views of the Maragua Crater. The tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel in Sucre by 2:30 pm.
