Set off from Sucre and visit a charming Quechua village on our private Tarabuco day trip. You'll spend the day immersing yourself in the local culture and learning about how ancestral customs remain strong today.

Options

When making your booking, you'll be able to choose from the two options described below. Both include pick up and drop off at your hotel, transport by minibus and an English-speaking guide.

Half-Day Tour

At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Sucre and drive to the Quechua village of Tarabuco, observing the arid landscapes of the Bolivian plains.

Tarabuco is known for its traditional market, where families from the Yampara Indigenous community sell their products every Sunday. We will explore the market, learning about the colourful traditional clothing of the Yampara and the bartering customs. You'll have time to browse shops selling food, textiles and handicrafts.

After 4 hours in Tarabuco, we'll return to Sucre.

Full-Day Tour

For those who prefer more time in Tarabuco, the full-day tour is available. After pick up from your hotel in Sucre, we will drive for 1 hour and 30 minutes to Tarabuco.

At the Tarabuco Market, you will observe Yampara families dressed in traditional clothing, engaging in buying, selling, and exchanging local products. After exploring the market, we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch, which includes a starter, main course, and dessert.

We will conclude our 6-hour excursion by returning to Sucre.
