Set off from Sucre and visit a charming Quechua village on our private Tarabuco day trip. You'll spend the day immersing yourself in the local culture and learning about ancestral customs.

Day Trip Options

When making your booking, you'll be able to choose from the two options described below. Both include pick up and drop off at your hotel, transport by minibus and an English-speaking guide.

Half-Day Tour

At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Sucre and drive to the Quechua village of Tarabuco. On the way, we'll look out at the arid landscapes of the Bolivian plains.

Tarabuco is famous for its traditional market, where families from the Yampara Indigenous community, with Quechua origins, sell their products every Sunday. We will discover the historic practice of bartering and other traditional characteristics during our trip.

We'll stroll through the market and browse shops selling food, textiles, and handicrafts while learning about the Yampara civilization's origins and history. After spending 4 hours in Tarabuco, we'll return to Sucre.

Full-Day Tour

For more time in Tarabuco, choose the full-day tour. After picking you up from your hotel in Sucre, we'll embark on a 1-hour 30-minute drive to Tarabuco.

We'll arrive at the Tarabuco Market, attended by Yampara Indigenous community members. They buy, sell, and exchange local products and handicrafts. Following our market visit, we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch, which includes a starter, main course, and dessert.

Our 6-hour excursion will conclude as we return to Sucre.
