Set off from Sucre and visit a charming Quechua village on our Tarabuco Day Trip. You'll spend the day immersing yourself in local culture and learning about how ancestral customs remain strong today.
Tarabuco Day Trip
When making your booking, you'll be able to choose from two options: Half-Day Tour or Full-Day Tour. Both include pick up and drop off at your hotel, transport by minibus, and an English-speaking guide.
Half-Day Tour
At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Sucre and drive to the Quechua village of Tarabuco. On the way, we'll view the arid landscapes of the Bolivian plains.
Tarabuco is famous for its traditional market, where families from the Yampara Indigenous community sell products every Sunday. Here, we will learn about bartering and explore the market, browsing shops selling food, textiles, and handicrafts while discovering the Yampara civilization's history.
After spending 4 hours in Tarabuco, we'll return to Sucre.
Full-Day Tour
For those preferring more time in Tarabuco, the full-day tour is available. After picking you up from your hotel in Sucre, we'll drive for 1 hour and 30 minutes to Tarabuco.
We'll arrive at the Tarabuco Market, where Yampara families gather to buy, sell, and exchange local products and handicrafts. After exploring the market, we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch, consisting of a starter, main course, and dessert.
The 6-hour excursion will conclude as we arrive back in Sucre.
