Head into the Verde Valley and discover its mining tradition in Jerome and take a unique ride aboard the Verde Canyon train. We'll also visit the Montezuma and Tuzigoot monuments!

Jerome Tour + Verde Canyon Train

Pickup at your hotel in Phoenix is at 6:30 am to start the route through Verde Valley, offering a panoramic view of Mingus Mountain and the Mogollon Rim.

The first stop is Montezuma Castle National Monument, a well-preserved site with over 700 years of history. Next, we will visit Tuzigoot National Monument, built by the same tribe as Montezuma.

Continuing our tour, we head to Jerome, known for its significant mining tradition since 1800. We will explore the city's historic streets to uncover its secrets and stories, including its reputation as the Wickedest City in the West.

Next, we will board the iconic Verde Canyon train, where we can admire unique views of Verde Valley while enjoying a snack and learning about the railroad that began operating over 100 years ago. The train travels through the canyon, offering a perspective on the red rocks at nearly 2,000 feet above sea level. We will pass by beautiful Sedona and the waters of the Verde River while having a tasty lunch.

After this experience, we will return to Phoenix and drop you off at your hotel by approximately 6:30 pm.
