Head into the Verde Valley and discover its mining tradition in Jerome and take a unique ride aboard the Verde Canyon train. We'll also visit the Montezuma and Tuzigoot monuments!

Jerome Tour + Verde Canyon Train

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Phoenix at 6:30 am to start our route through the Verde Valley, where you'll have a panoramic view of Mingus Mountain and the Mogollon Rim.

Our first stop is Montezuma Castle National Monument, featuring one of the best-preserved sites in the Hohokam area, with over 700 years of history. After this, we'll head to Tuzigoot National Monument, built by the same local tribe that constructed Montezuma.

We'll continue our tour by visiting Jerome, a city with a significant mining tradition, producing minerals since 1800. We'll explore its historic streets to uncover its secrets and stories, including why it was known as the Wickedest City in the West.

Our trip continues as we board the iconic Verde Canyon train. From our seats, we'll enjoy views of Verde Valley while having a snack and learning about the history of this railroad that began operating over 100 years ago. The train passes through the canyon, providing close-up views of the red rocks, and at nearly 2,000 feet above sea level, we’ll pass beautiful Sedona and the Verde River while enjoying lunch.

Following this experience, we'll return to Phoenix and drop you off at your hotel, arriving around 6:30 pm.
