Head into the Verde Valley to discover its mining tradition in Jerome and take a ride aboard the Verde Canyon train. The tour also includes visits to the Montezuma and Tuzigoot monuments.

Jerome Tour + Verde Canyon Train

Pickup starts at your hotel in Phoenix at 6:30 am for a route through the Verde Valley, offering panoramic views of Mingus Mountain and the Mogollon Rim.

The first stop is Montezuma Castle National Monument, a well-preserved Hohokam site with over 700 years of history. Next, we visit Tuzigoot National Monument, constructed by the same tribe as Montezuma.

We will then explore Jerome, known for its significant mining tradition since 1800. The tour will cover its historic streets and the city’s history as the Wickedest City in the West.

Afterward, we board the iconic Verde Canyon train. Enjoy views of Verde Valley from comfortable seats, along with a snack and information about the railroad operating for over 100 years. The train travels through the canyon, offering close-up views of the red rocks, Sedona, and the Verde River while you enjoy lunch at nearly 2,000 feet above sea level.

The excursion concludes with a return to Phoenix, arriving at your hotel around 6:30 pm.
