Tour Overview

Gathering at our base camp located 46 km (28 miles) outside of Höfn, we will embark on an engaging off-road journey to Iceland's black sand beaches. Let's uncover the natural wonders of this stunning area!

Following a brief orientation, we'll climb aboard a 4x4 as we set off towards the black sand shores of Suðurfjörur. During the drive, we will pass by the remnants of the first local airport and take in the scenic views of the Hvanneyjarviti lighthouse, an ideal spot for capturing memorable photographs!

Our 4x4 adventure will lead us to the port of Höfn, where we may spot seals as we enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the towering mountains that surround us. Next, we'll navigate through the area’s remarkable black sand beaches, revealing a distinctive landscape characteristic of Iceland.

As our outing nears its end, we will pause at a glacial lagoon nearby Fláajökull or Heinabergsjökull, often frequented by reindeer. This will surely be a highlight of your journey!

We will conclude our 3-hour exploration by returning to base camp.
