Helicopter Ride over Skaftafell (30 minutes)
Meet at Öræfi 785 at the designated time for a 30-minute helicopter ride over Skaftafell. The pilot will provide insights into the route before takeoff.
Experience views of Skaftafell National Park, featuring Iceland's glaciers and volcanoes. Witness Öræfajökull, a powerful crater, and soar over Mount Hvannadalshnjúkur, the highest peak in Iceland at 2110 meters (6,922 feet).
After the flight, return to the meeting point.
Helicopter Ride over Lakagigar (75 minutes)
Select a longer adventure with a 75-minute helicopter ride over part of Vatnajökull National Park, focusing on the Laki or Lakagigar crater chain.
Fly westward over the ice cap of Skeiðarárjökull, one of Vatnajökull's outlet glaciers. Approach Lakagigar to see a row of volcanic craters formed by a significant eruption.
On the return, fly over the Súlutindar peaks and continue along Skeiðarárjökull, enjoying panoramic views.
After 75 minutes, return to the Skaftafell terminal, concluding the helicopter ride over Lakagigar.
