Puffin Watching in Ingólfshöfði

At the scheduled time, we'll gather at Þjóðvegur and board a carriage pulled by a tractor, embarking on a journey to Cape Ingólfshöfði, an ideal location for observing the iconic Icelandic puffins.

After a scenic 30-minute ride through the marshlands of the nature reserve, we will alight from the tractor and commence a 1 hour and 30 minute hike along the stunning coastline of Ingólfshöfði. This area serves as a sanctuary for thousands of seabirds, including both puffins and skuas.

During our expedition, you will learn fascinating facts about these orange-billed birds, recognized as some of the most beloved residents of Iceland, which prefer to nest in secluded coastal areas away from hunters. We will pause frequently during our walk to allow you to capture photographs of the puffins and observe them up close.

Following our adventure, we will make our way back to the vehicle and return to our original meeting point, concluding this memorable activity.
