Vatnajökull Glacier & Blue Ice Cave Hike

The Vatnajökull Glacier & Blue Ice Cave Hike starts at 9 am at the Glacier Adventure Base Camp. A 30-minute drive takes us to the Vatnajökull glacier in Skaftafell National Park. After gearing up with helmets, harnesses, ice axes, and crampons, we embark on a hike on one of Europe's largest glaciers.

During the hike, we encounter uneven terrain, unique rock formations, and moulins that contribute to the glacier's ever-changing nature. After 45 to 90 minutes, we arrive at the stunning Blue Ice Cave beneath the glacier, renowned for its intense blue color.

Exploring the interior of this natural wonder reveals hidden secrets before returning to the base camp by jeep around 4 pm. It's an unforgettable day exploring two of Iceland's most beautiful locations.
