Namib Desert Tour

On this tour, you will explore the Namib desert's lunar landscape and the ancient Welwitschia plants. At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in a 4x4 jeep. The tour begins as we leave Swakopmund to visit the Swakop River Canyon, also known as Moon Valley. This area is named for the erosion around the Swakop River, which occurred 500 million years ago, offering a visual comparison to the moon's craters.

After observing the rock formations and taking photos, we will continue to Goanikontes Oasis for a meal amidst a tranquil environment. This resort, originally an old farm established in 1848 and later converted into a hotel, provides a peaceful dining experience.

Following lunch, we will proceed to Welwitschia, which is home to the Welwitschia Mirabilis, a plant discovered in 1859 that can live for up to 1,000 years and is adapted to desert conditions. You will also have the chance to sample traditional Namibian food, including fat cookies, oshifima, and mopane worms.

After enjoying the views and our meal, we will return to Swakopmund and drop you off at your hotel.
