Let your adrenaline go wild as you sandboard in the Namib desert at speeds of up to 50 mph (80 kph)! A must for thrill-seekers!
Activity Details
At the established time, your guide will come and pick you up from your hotel in Swakopmund and you'll set off towards the Namib, considered to be the oldest desert in the world. Once there, you'll be given all the equipment needed ready to surf the dunes.
Sandboarding is the perfect way to enjoy the grandeur of the desert and some of the highest sand dunes in the world. This is a fun, unique activity like no other, plus, because nobody is born knowing how to do it, you'll be taken to six types of different slopes, so that regardless of if you've done it before or not, you can choose the slope that suits you best.
If you don't feel confident standing up on the sandboard, you can choose to do lie down sandboarding. For this option, you'll be given a special board and you can slide face-first down the dunes, reaching speeds of up to 50 miles per hour (80 kilometres per hour)!
You'll go up and down the dunes a few times, and then you'll be able to replenish your energy with some traditional snacks before you're taken back to your hotel in Swakopmund.
