Come on a day trip to Spitzkoppe and marvel at one of the most impressive rock formations in Africa as well as discover ancient paintings!

At the arranged time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Swakopmund and set off for a 700 million-year-old rock formation. We will first stop in Swakopmund to view the Martin Luther locomotive, the first mechanical transport in Namibia, built over 100 years ago. Our guide will provide insights into the history of the train, the city, and Namibia.

Next, we will journey through the Namib Desert, appreciating the landscape where the reddish tones of the mountains meet the golden desert sand. We will arrive at the Spitzkoppe Mountain, which rises to 1,728 meters above sea level, sometimes called the Matterhorn of Namibia. These granite formations were once a refuge for the Bushmen or San people, who left behind fascinating paintings.

During the excursion, you will have the opportunity to prepare a traditional meal featuring typical Namibian dishes such as fat cookies, etitis, or mopane worms to regain your strength for further exploration of Spitzkoppe. You can also visit the famous stone arch for impressive photos.

At the end of the trip, we will return to Swakopmund and drop you off at your hotel.
