Come on a day trip to Spitzkoppe and marvel at one of the most impressive rock formations in Africa as well as discover ancient paintings!

Spitzkoppe Day Trip

At the arranged time we'll pick you up from your hotel in Swakopmund and set off on our adventure to a 700 million-year-old rock formation. Before heading into the desert we'll stop in the city of Swakopmund to see the Martin Luther locomotive, over 100 years old, which was the first form of mechanical transport in Namibia. Our guide will share the history of the train, the city, and Namibia in general.

Then we'll journey through the Namib Desert, admiring the landscape where the reddish tones of the mountain blend with the golden desert sand. Soon we'll approach the spectacular Spitzkoppe Mountain at 1,728 metres above sea level. These granite formations served as a refuge for the Bushmen or Sans thousands of years ago, who left behind fascinating paintings.

During the excursion, we'll prepare a traditional meal featuring typical Namibian dishes such as fat cookies, etitis, and mopane worms. You will also have the opportunity to visit the famous stone arch for impressive photos.

At the end of the trip, we'll return to Swakopmund and drop you off at your hotel.
