Moquegua Day Trip

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tacna and embark on a 2-hour drive to Moquegua.

Upon arrival, we'll take a walking tour of the city, which has origins predating the Incas and features colonial mansions showcasing Hispanic architecture.

During the tour, we'll visit notable locations including the Plaza de Armas, where you'll find a fountain imported from Paris. We'll also explore the Contisuyo Museum, which contains a significant collection of artifacts from the Wari and Tiwanaku cultures, including pottery and precious metal items.

Next, we'll enter the Church of Santo Domingo, known as the Matiz Church, which became the main temple after the original cathedral was destroyed in an earthquake. The remains of Saint Fortunata, brought from the Vatican, are interred here.

Following this, we'll visit the Cristo Blanco Viewpoint for stunning views of Moquegua. Lunch will be available at a restaurant, allowing you to taste the varied local cuisine.

We will then proceed to a wine and pisco cellar, along with a macerados cellar, to sample fruit and syrup liqueurs.

Our day trip concludes as we return to Tacna and drop you off at your hotel by 5 pm.
