Tacna and Campo de la Alianza Tour
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Tacna at the time of your choice to start this historical tour.
The tour begins with a visit to the Municipal Theater, built in 1870 and used as a field hospital during the Battle of Tacna in 1880, where the Peruvian army and Bolivians fought against Chilean troops.
Next, we will visit the Casa de la Jurídica, where the Chileans signed the act of surrender of Tacna to Peru. We will also see the house of Francisco Antonio de Zela, a leader of Peru's independence.
Following this, we will view the house of Jorge Basadre Growman, a chronicler of Tacna's history, before taking a bus to the historic Campo de la Alianza, the battleground for control of the city.
After Campo de la Alianza, we will visit the Museum of Arms to learn about the battle's significance and then continue to the Campo Santo, where a marble cross inscribed with a poem by Jorge Basadre and Jimenez Borja is located.
After a 3-hour tour, we will return you to your hotel in Tacna.
