Explore the Inter Andean valleys and scenic views on the Tarata & Ticaco Day Trip from Tacna, which includes a visit to the Putina thermal baths.

Tarata & Ticaco Day Trip

The trip begins at 8 am with a hotel pickup in Tacna. A bus will take you to the province of Tarata, with a one-hour journey to ascend to 3500 metres (11500 ft) at the Apacheta lookout. Here, you will observe the diverse landscapes, including the inter Andean valleys, Yucatamani volcanoes, Tutupaca, and the Cordillera del Barroso mountain range.

At the viewpoint, experience a traditional offering ceremony to the Earth. Next, visit Tarucachi, a colonial church similar to the Tarata church, featuring colonial mestizo style decoration with natural dyes.

Proceed to Tarata, where you will walk to the main square and church, then continue to the Santa Maria Inca trail for views of Tarata's scenery and the Qala Qala caves, a sacred site for locals.

Continue by bus to the Titaco thermal baths, where you can enjoy the baths at your leisure. After the thermal baths, lunch will be provided at a local restaurant, and you will return to Tacna, with drop-off at your hotel by 5 pm.
