Free Tour of Jiantan Mountain

Tropical vegetation, ancient bunkers, temples, and viewpoints are part of this free tour of Jiantan Mountain, a hiking route in Taipei to escape the city bustle.

Free Tour of Jiantan Mountain

We will meet at the Jiantan subway station, at exit 2. From there, we will walk to the trails of Jiantan Mountain to begin our hiking tour.

During the free tour, we will explore a tropical forest, admiring various temples and stopping at viewpoints with views of Taipei. You will see the skyscrapers of the Xinyi financial district, the Keelung River, and Songshan airport. We will learn about the military history of Jiantan Mountain, including old bunkers and guard posts.

On our way down, we will view the Miramar Ferris wheel, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Dazhi Bridge, among other landmarks.

After a 3-hour hike, we will conclude the tour outside Dazhi Metro Station.

Optional bike tour

If desired, we can end the tour at Yuanshan Station instead of Dazhi Subway Station. This option includes using Taipei's public bikes for the additional segment, with rental fees payable on the day of the tour.
